Some similar experiences in our family. We are also out of savings and done with rehab but I know we can walk forward sticking together instead of shipping our son off.
Thank you for sharing your journey. Unfortunately I had many of the same experiences with my son. One of the most disappointing times was when my son was 5 minutes late for his intake. They turned him away and said “come back in a week when you are committed to getting clean”. I’m grateful he didn’t overdose during that week. So much harm in places we trusted 😢💔
Medicaid is the primary driver for the proliferation of rehabs. Rehabs need a certain number of clients to get paid by Medicaid. There are conglomerates that have rehabs/“recovery houses” in several states. I focus on my son and healthy boundaries and try to transform my anger over the wasted time and money.
Thank you for sharing this, it truly is a machine, a corrupt rehab machine. So is the penal system. My son has endured so much trauma related to the lies and corruption of the dirty little industries surrounding addiction. I commented on the FB post. Bless you and yours and all you do to raise awareness. Bl Thanks for sharing and for so many this is true! Bravo to you. I wrote about our experiences with rehab here: https://open.substack.com/pub/momsforallpaths/p/ten-years-twenty-rehabs-and-infinite?r=3gczu&utm_medium=ios ess you for your kindness to share.
Its outrageous- or when they throw them out for the very reason they are there. The rehab machine needs a total overhaul. Sending love always mama❤️
